- Custom interior
- Centreboard keel 2.10-3.35 m
This Swan 53 is one of the last 53’s (nr. 45 of 50) produced by Nautor Swan in Finland. The advanced design by German Frers created a fast and comfortable cruising yacht. The deck layout is very clean and sail handling is easy. The boat can be sailed with a very small crew. The sheet winches are electrically powered as well as the central mainsheet winch and thanks to the balanced rudder the steering is very light. The recently installed Raytheon autopilot is very accurate and steers the boat to perfection.
“Sisu” was commissioned by a very experienced Swan-owner, who wanted to be able to sail in areas with restricted depth, which resulted in the design of a centreboard version of the Swan 53 with a draft of 2.10-meter board up and 3.35-meter board down. The idea was the yacht to be conceived as a pure cruising boat.
The mainsail is full-batten with Harken track and Harken bat cars and lazy jacks. The forestay is equipped with a new electric Bamar headsail furler.
She is equipped with a keel stepped three-spreader tall-rig mast (I=21.66, J=6.40, P=19.39, E=6.05) for excellent performance in light airs. Navtec discontinuous rod rigging recently renewed.
The interior was heavily customized resulting in a very roomy and elegant saloon and aft cabin.
After sailing for several years in the Netherlands, SISU went to the Mediterranean, where she stayed until April 2026. Now she is back in the Netherlands for a complete service.
She was never raced or chartered, only used for family cruising.

HULL
CONSTRUCTION
The hull construction is of proven solid single skin glass fibre reinforced hand layup laminate. With closed-cell foam stringers and all structural bulkheads laminated to the hull. The deck is of a sandwich construction with closed-cell foam and reinforcements where deck equipment is installed. The teak deck has recently been replaced with very high-quality teak and to a very high standard. Thickness of the teak deck still 50% above the standard Nautor deck.
The condition of the hull is amazing. Even after 35 years, most of the time in the Mediterranean, the hull - still original gelcoat - is remarkably shiny above the waterline and does not show any sign of osmosis below the waterline.
This is mainly due to Nautor’s high quality craftsmanship and attention to detail and the use of the best quality materials to be found. The gelcoat was applied in two coats by hand, resulting in a very durable outer skin.
The boat has never suffered any hull damage and therefore no repairs have been carried out.
