The Bavaria 35 Match belongs to the "Racing-Cruising" family.
The characteristics of this type of boat are as follows:
Larger sail area - Deeper keel - Higher quality and more complete deck fittings
Smoother hull, lower height, and therefore lighter - Large cockpit designed for efficient maneuvering (and very comfortable!)
Practically equivalent comfort to cruising boats.
Performance is significantly better than that of a traditional cruising boat. The gain is most notable in light winds and when sailing upwind. With 10 knots of wind, the Bavaria 35 Match sails at 6 knots less than 40° close-hauled versus 4 knots at over 45° for a standard boat.
