The Bavaria 35 Match belongs to the "Performance Cruising" family.
The characteristics of this type of boat are as follows:
- Larger sail area - Deeper keel - Higher quality and more complete rigging
- Shallower, narrower hull, and thus lighter - Large cockpit designed for efficient maneuvering (and very comfortable!)
- Comfort nearly equivalent to cruising boats.
Performance is significantly superior to that of a standard cruising boat. The biggest advantage is in light wind and close-hauled conditions. With 10 knots of wind, the Bavaria 35 Match sails at 6 knots within 40° of the wind, compared to 4 knots at over 45° for a standard boat.
