The Bavaria 35 Match belongs to the "Performance Cruising" family.
The characteristics of this type of boat are as follows:
Larger sail area - Deeper keel - Higher quality and more complete fittings
Lighter hull, narrower and lower - Large cockpit designed for efficient maneuvering (and very comfortable!)
Comfort almost equivalent to that of cruising boats.
Performance is significantly better than that of a standard cruising boat. The gain is most noticeable in light wind and close-hauled sailing. With 10 knots of wind, the Bavaria 35 Match sails at 6 knots within 40° of the wind versus 4 knots at more than 45° for a typical boat.
