Truly a reference in the high-end open segment, the BG42 stands out with its 360° walkaround circulation concept, protected cockpit, and exceptional exterior volumes, providing remarkable comfort in the Mediterranean and coastal cruising (CE Category B). Powered by 2 x Volvo Penta D6 IPS 650 engines developing 480 HP each and only 130 hours total, this model combines power, efficiency, and stability. The IPS transmission coupled with the Volvo joystick ensures highly precise maneuvering, complemented by a Side Power 75 bow thruster for full control in port. The Interceptor system automatically optimizes trim and enhances dynamic comfort while sailing, with engines regularly serviced and recently updated. The energy autonomy is a major asset with a 7 kW generator providing independent 220V power at anchor and underway, enabling air conditioning, refrigeration, and equipment operation without dock connection, with a BTU 16000 air conditioning system. The setup is enhanced by two 220W solar panels (2024), a Victron SmartSolar Bluetooth regulator, a Victron Bluetooth shunt, and a Victron Skylla 24V 80A charger with three outputs (2025), ensuring optimal battery management and recharge. A 130L/h Idromar watermaker (2025) guarantees full freshwater autonomy for long stays. The new Dometic box (2025) automatically manages the power supply to three refrigerators in 220V or 24V depending on the source, supplemented by an external stainless steel freezer Frigonautica (2024). The deck is fully optimized for outdoor living with an hydraulic passerelle and a submerged platform controlled via stainless steel Opacmare tables (2025), complete cockpit enclosure with transparent Crystal covers (2024), side shade cloths, Webasto 5 kW outdoor heating for year-round comfort, wireless Lewmar chain counter remote for anchoring maneuvers, as well as electric winches at the bow and stern for precise and effortless mooring operations. The interior, redesigned by Studio Souchon — a design firm collaborating also with Sanlorenzo — offers a refined atmosphere with high-quality finishes, an electric retractable salon table, adaptive lighting, a cabin optimized to reduce roll sensation through its orientation, and Alcantara details adding a touch of luxury yacht style.
