XBOAT ref: 6206.
Still very popular on the fast cruising catamaran market, this 2011 CATANA 50 was managed for charters from 2012 to 2016 by Dream Yacht Charter in Martinique.
A complete refit was carried out during the first six months of 2017 to repair rental deficiencies and upgrade its equipment to make it a safe and comfortable boat for a long-distance cruising program. This program was limited to exploring the Antilles arc, the US Atlantic coast, and the Canadian Atlantic coast, as it was interrupted by COVID-19. A cargo repatriation during the pandemic allowed it to be brought back to the Mediterranean.
A 2017 sail set including mainsail, solent, and gennaker allows for rather dynamic sailing with perfect visibility thanks to the 2 steering stations on the aft consoles. The 2 daggerboards offer very good upwind performance.
LOUARN is a 4 double cabin version, with the 2 aft cabins having separate beds that can be converted, and 2 cabins forward, each with its own bathroom. The saloon is bright, finished in light wood, with a U-shaped galley open to the cockpit, highly appreciated and very well equipped. It faces the proper chart table, oriented forward, and an L-shaped seating area with a folding and telescopic table.
In terms of equipment, it meets long-distance cruising needs with generator, watermaker, solar panels, fridge and freezer, ice maker, and complete electronics including Iridium, etc. The 2 Volvo 75 hp engines allow reasonable consumption of 4.5L/H each at 7 knots.
In short, a well-lived unit that still holds all its potential for a new sailing program and at a very reasonable budget! More information and photos on the site xboat.fr
