The Clipper 42 sailboat is a cruising monohull, built by Cheoy Lee Shipyard in Hong Kong. This fixed keel sailboat, rigged as a Ketch with a staysail, was designed by naval architect A. E. Luders with a maximum draft of 1.75 m. Production started in 1974. A total of 50 units of the boat have been produced.
General condition:
This unit is in very nice presentation condition; the hull needs polishing but aside from that, everything is carefully maintained and ready to sail.
Interior:
The upholstery is in excellent condition, as are the woodwork and coverings. The floors show some minor defects. The bilges are clean.
Exterior:
Apart from the hull which needs polishing, we did not observe any gelcoat chipping either on the hull or on the deck, nor any delamination on the deck. The teak seems original but remains in very good condition and requires no work at first glance.
Mechanical:
Engine replaced in 2021 with a new Nanni diesel 50hp, under warranty for another 3 years. It replaced a Perkins 4.108.
