Powered by a Yanmar 40 HP engine totaling approximately 2000 hours, meticulously maintained with annual revisions, this sailboat benefits from a new engine control console installed in 2022 and a sail drive replaced in 2021, ensuring reliability and peace of mind while sailing.

Inside, comfort is king: 8 spacious berths accommodate the crew, complemented by two complete bathrooms with manual toilets (whose faucets were replaced in 2021) and a deck shower for added convenience onboard.

The racing rig ROD, installed in 2014, optimizes performance with Spectra halyards. The handling equipment includes a Harken furler, a convertible double groove backstay, and a full Harken fittings package, including an organized pilot and a German-style genoa sheet. The cruising mainsail is equipped with three reef points, while the furling genoa is in excellent condition and fitted with lazy jacks for easier maneuvers.

For racing enthusiasts, a complete set of Kevlar/Mylar sails is provided: mainsail, genoa, and spinnaker, all ready to deliver optimal performance. Three spinnakers, light and heavy, as well as a third with a sock ideal for reduced crew navigation, complete the arsenal—all in perfect condition with Spectra halyards and sheets. The spinnaker pole and fittings are installed, accompanied by a hydraulic pole kicker for precise adjustment.

On the electronics side, the boat is equipped with a full B&G system with external repeaters, autopilot, Raymarine GPS/chartplotter at the chart table, VHF, and a radio/CD with four speakers inside and outside for a pleasant onboard ambiance.

Comfort onboard continues with heating (to be repaired), a recent engine battery (2020), two service batteries (2016), an electric bilge pump, a brand new electric windlass with control (2021), an anchor with 45 m of chain, a 220V system with an automatic charger installed in 2022, a Bimini Top, and a full sun cover for sun protection. The galley features a 2018 refrigerated icebox and a two-burner gas stove with oven, with hoses replaced in 2022.

The sea cocks were replaced in 2013, ensuring watertightness and safety. The recent dinghy (2022) is offered with its Tohatsu outboard motor, serviced in the same year. The teak deck, in excellent condition, invites relaxation, complemented by a boarding ladder and an outside shower to fully enjoy stops.

Ready for offshore navigation, this Grand Soleil 40R has a hull repaired in 2014 and repainted in 2018, with some touch-ups expected. An ideal sailboat for combining racing and cruising with full confidence.
