XBOAT ref: 1661.
Gallian 13 ketch, Carène design shipyard, Herbulot.
This boat underwent a complete refit in 2020 for a round-the-world trip that the current owner unfortunately could not undertake.
Both engines have been replaced by 2 new VOLVO PENTA D2 50 HP units. The shipyard did extensive work replacing all the propulsion system, shaft lines, steering gear, tanks, rudder bushings, joints, hydraulics, and much more.
The electrical system and electronics have also been completely renewed.
Complete invoice file available. Over €90,000 spent; expert report available upon request.
The 1977 Gallian ketch 13 was designed by architect Jean-Jacques Herbulot.
A swim platform has been added, bringing the boat's length to 14.90 meters.
The hull is made of epoxy plywood, as is the swim platform, which is fully integrated into the hull since it is attached to the frames and stringers.
It is equipped for ocean cruising with 4 solar panels of 50 watts each and a 400-watt Air Brise wind turbine: the system powers 600 ampere-hours of service batteries. The boat is electrically autonomous. All lighting consists of LED bulbs.
1 side cabin with a large berth for 2 people and a wardrobe, located in the center of the boat.
1 double forward cabin.
2 bunk beds in the starboard passageway, with the upper bunk convertible into a double berth.
1 head (sink, shower, and toilet with black water tank) accessible from both the forward cabin and the owner's cabin.
1 saloon offset to port, comfortably seating 8 guests.
1 long galley equipped with a 2-burner stove with oven, two large refrigerators, a sink with drainer, and countertop space.
1 spacious wheelhouse protected by a rigid hardtop extended by a canvas bimini on a stainless steel tube frame.
A large table with bench seating beneath which are extensive lockers. This area forms a true living space, both at sea and at anchor, facilitated by easy circulation and almost level access (2 steps between the wheelhouse and the interior).
1 large aft swim platform and bathing ladder for easy swimming and boarding at anchor.
The boat is equipped with davits: ketch rigged with a mizzen sail on a furling system, a mainsail with three reefs and a rigid boom vang, a furling genoa, and a releasable forestay. The sail wardrobe includes a furlable staysail, a jib, a storm jib, all rigged on their respective gear, two symmetrical spinnakers (a light and a heavy one), and an asymmetrical spinnaker with its sock.
1 Delta anchor weighing 30 kg with 60 meters of chain + a plow anchor. More information and photos at xboat.fr
