Beautiful classic JOHN ALDEN CHALLENGER 38 YAWL sailboat
My name is MERIDIAN OF GREENWHICH, after 44 years of very attentive care and love from my owner (a Brit like me) and her family, it is now time to find a new captain (or a few!) who will give me the same care and attention.
I measure 11.73 m in length and 3.35 m in width, with a draft of 1.30 to 2.43 m thanks to my bronze keel
My hull is made of reinforced fiberglass (early technology) manufactured by Halmatic limited and finished in England by the chantier Field and Loughborowgh Aircraft Ltd.
My yawl rig has a headstay, my standing rigging was replaced in 2021, my sails (main on roller furling, jib also on roller, staysail and mizzen sail) are in excellent condition (revision done), my traditional wooden boom is varnished.
My mast has a white cover, and is equipped with a Garmin anemometer from 2021 (Gwind GMI 20 wind gauge), a radar completes my equipment.
The electrical system was completely redone in 2022 (new breaker panel…)
A beautiful fore cabin and a large modular saloon in mahogany will accommodate 6 people.
I have a fully equipped galley (gas stove and oven), a bathroom with toilet, and numerous storage compartments.
My engine, about twenty years old (Nanni 42), runs smoothly, has been regularly maintained, and the new gear shift was replaced in 2022. However, it will require a review before launching.
An inflatable dinghy will also be included.
