Built in 1996 for its first owners, the Outremer 38/40 is well designed for all fast cruising, racing, or offshore navigation programs. The Outremer 38/40 was Gérard Danson's first model, built at the Outremer shipyard. This version was already built with the large roof of the Outremer 45, which offers more space and standing height in the salon. A rare opportunity on the market, this 38 features an original hull design strictly conceived without any extended stern panel. In fact, still an 11.99 m boat! This Outremer is equipped with a hydraulic steering wheel (disconnectable) + two straight bars. It has undergone a complete overhaul at the Outremer yard, including a new mast.
The current owner has upgraded the boat's equipment with the intent to cross the Atlantic, having navigated through the Caribbean to the Bahamas, and was deeply impressed by the excellent sailing qualities of this fast and reliable Outremer. An impressive amount has been invested to restore it to its best sailing condition. A beautiful owner’s boat with numerous improvements made year after year, ready to depart for its next adventure, fully equipped and prepared to cross oceans.
