RARE! This habitable barge built in 1928 by the Chantier des Deux Saintes, measuring 39 meters long by 5 meters wide, is located between Reims and Soissons in Aisne (02).
The barge features the sailor's accommodation in the center, in its original oak condition. Only 2 or 3 boats of this model remain. It has two separate holds.
Access is via the forward hold, converted into a livable apartment: a 50 m² living space including a fitted kitchen with appliances (electric stove, refrigerator-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher), and the living area. A wood stove (France Turbo) installed in 2011 heats the entire space.
An electric and economical heating system (2004), also capable of functioning as an air conditioner, is installed. The brightness is provided by round brass portholes and a skylight (to be replaced? leakage during storms).
The bow peak is separated from the kitchen by a watertight door and is used as a pantry and wood storage.
A 10 m² cabin with a porthole (same model), heated either by the wood stove radiation or by the reverse-cycle air conditioning system (see main room).
A 10 m² bathroom with bathtub and shower (to be replaced), plus a dressing room and a porthole.
Beyond, the captain's cabin (renovations needed, especially insulation) (also with an external independent exit), original oak with an original wardrobe bed (view outside), a central room that can serve as an office/library. Two windows at the rear. Possibility to install a wood stove.

The barge also features a wheelhouse with the pilot station, and the sailor's apartment in its original condition (renovations needed, especially insulation) with direct access from the hold to be fitted out.
A very accessible 40 m² wooden terrace is installed on the fitted-out apartment.

The communal slip is valid until August 6, 2024. A ten-year inspection will be required and should be covered by the buyer.
The barge’s bottom was doubled in 2004, and the port and starboard hull sheets were refurbished in 2014.
To be scheduled: exterior painting, replacement of the living room's clear-vision panel, bathroom shower to be replaced, insulation of the central cabin, completion of the second hold’s fitting, creation of another bathroom, installation of a black water treatment system, renovation of the crew cabin and wheelhouse.
