The major updates of 2023/2024 attest to its excellent condition: a powerful bow thruster, a new AGM battery and engine service, recently installed electric toilets, a modern microwave, a brand-new refrigeration unit, a charging station, a cutting-edge inverter, as well as renewed halyards, sheets, and lines. The windlass, chain, and anchor were also replaced this same year to ensure safety and efficiency.
Inside, the X-452 offers two spacious cabins and two modern bathrooms. The master cabin, located at the front, benefits from an en-suite bathroom with an electric toilet installed in 2023/2024, while the aft cabin features two comfortable single beds. An additional bathroom with shower and electric toilet completes this space. The salon is particularly welcoming with its convertible dinette, two groups of sofas, and a friendly dining table. To starboard, the chart table is ideally positioned, while to port, the L-shaped galley, extended toward the stern, is equipped with a three-burner stove, a gas oven, a recent microwave, three sinks with faucets and sea water pump, as well as a refrigerator with a new refrigeration unit. The whole area is illuminated by indoor and outdoor LED lights for a warm and functional atmosphere.
In terms of instrumentation, this sailboat is equipped with a complete and high-performance setup: VHF with chart and well, two chartplotters, three GARMIN GMI10 and GNX 20 multifunction tools, two forward and aft depth sounders, an additional Navman sounder, a compass, an AUTOHELM 6000 autopilot, an AIS receiver, a radio with speakers, an inverter, a QUICK battery charger, as well as two new service batteries and one new engine battery (2023). The FB engine is well maintained, and the halyards, sheets, and lines were replaced in 2023.
The rigging is optimized for performance with a complete sail set: two North Sails mainsails for cruising and racing, a genoa, a spinnaker, and various jibs suitable for all points of sail. The system includes three halyards, a cunningham, two reefing lines, a German mainsail circuit, a double tackle, a spinnaker pole, and a removable stay. A NAVTEC hydraulic backstay tensioner with manometer ensures perfect tension of the rigging. The double-track removable furling jib makes maneuvering the sails directly from the deck easier, and a rarely used TUFF-LUFF stay adds flexibility.
The rigorous maintenance of the X-452 is evidenced by a complete osmosis treatment carried out in 2020, a recent antifouling (August 2023), and the replacement of the hull strips and side portholes in 2020 and 2021. The plexiglass of the deck hatches is currently being renewed. The cockpit and foredeck in teak were fully restored in 2019. The CARIBONI monohull mast, repainted in 2018, and the certified rigging ensure robustness and safety. The wind instruments were modernized in 2016, with many mechanical and engine parts checked and replaced regularly.
